Black Helicopters....

I sent an E-mail to the White House today, and immediately found myself very nervous. Who knows what legnths they will go to to supress opposition? Prior to the election, i had a few conversations with a lady who was indoctrinated into a psychotic political belief system by her father. She felt that she couldnt vote for John Kerry because the ?democrats? were building massive concentration camps for political dissenters. Someone may be planning such a thing somewhere, but i seriously doubt Mr. Kerry ever had such a thing in mind. Lets see... who has said that the Geneva Convention is quaint? Who created the situation at Abu Gharaib, and the ongoing and shamefull situation at Guantanamo Bay,Cuba?
I have been embarresed and shamed by my excercising the option of ignoring the news for the last couple days. The people to whom the news is happening to do not have the option of turning it off. The displaced citizens of Falluja, the widows, the orphans, the maimed children, the tortured, the massive amounts of people being subject to our imported famine, the amputees...they dont have the option of changing the channel, of turning up the heat, closing the blinds and climbing under a pile of blankets with a handfull of Little Debby's and a tall cold glass of milk.
It was heartening to see a story in today's Washington Post talking about the blog
http://www.fallujahinpictures.com .
I am ashamed to see no coverage of the massive anti-war protests happening at college campuses all across the country. Oh yea, thats right, there are no protests to speak of.. I am even more ashamed....
But hey, its all about Paris Hilton, Football, and..."reality television".. isnt that what's important after all?
Oh yea, great story in yesterdays NYT about the bloodthirsty Texans' about to get slapped down again by the Supreme Court.

It is unfortunate that truth is such a rare and precious commodity today.

Seperating the wheat from the chaff....

I feel like i am living in bizarro world. I am sure nothing makes the Bush administration happier than to have the media debating furiously their ridiculous funding for their backward thinking abstinence only sex education agenda. (Bush is about to light the White House Christmas tree... i hope there isnt an electrical short that barbecue's him on national TV, that would be a tragic waste of our energy resources. I am hoping for a lightning bolt to shoot out of the heavens) Very odd, the tree seems to be leaning to the right... It must be a sign from God that He supports the rape of our land for the further enrichment of the moneychangers who have assumed control of "our" government.
I found it ironic that today Bush stated that the elections will proceed in Iraq according to his schedule. I thought the Iraqi governing council was running the show over there. (thats irony, i know better...damn i am getting sick of irony)
So, America will hold a fake election, and appoint their chosen ruler to sign the oil contracts and do "our" bidding. The only suprise here is that we the people seem to forget how it has always worked out when we try and prop up a US controlled puppet government overseas. Think brutal butcher Agusto Pinochet of Chile, or even more apt, the ousted US tool, wish i could think of his name... the "Shah of Iran" who the Iranian people tossed out on his ass 25 years ago.
More to come, in the meantime i am going to try to figure out how birthcontrol pills and condom use is murder and using condoms leads to the spread of AIDS, and how masturbation leads to pregnancy outside of the bonds of wedlock.

Weeding out the nonsense...

As i typed the dot dot dot's at the end of the title of this entry I was reminded of Herb Caen's use of the device in his column... Probably due in part to my contemplation of the herb, you know, cannabis, weed, ganja, Ja, reefer, muggles, rope, dope, hemp, pot, maryjane etc. etc. etc. inspired by the US Supreme Court's contemplation of California's medical use of the wacky weed.
A few years ago, on a trip to the doctors office for pain in my elbow (which later required surgery) i was denied the good dope and sent home with suggestion that i pop a few motrin. Unlike the bastion of conservative values Rush Limbaugh, i have never shopped for doctors who would give me prescriptions for narcotics, nor have i ever sought them on the street. They usually make me faintly itchy truth be told, and when i have had to use them, after a day or two i am really tired of the fog they produce. But, when you have torn a tendon in your body there isnt anything i have ever tried that is as effective at alleviating the pain, or at least making it seem farther away and less important.
Now then, back to the Supreme Court, and the attack on the terminally ill by John Ashcroft. When the lady with the brain tumor tells me that smoking pot makes her feel better, who am i to tell her she is wrong? Through the democratic process of citizens initiative, the people of my home state decided that doctors and patients are the best ones to make that determination, decided on in a statewide electoral poll. The idea that "reefer madness" fear mongers could deny these people something they say gives them substantial relief strikes me as flying in the face of what i grew up thinking was a cornerstone of being an American, the concept of liberty. The big brother mentality of the current administration is leading us further and further away from the ideals that were at the cornerstone of the foundation of the country. The concepts of self determination, the basic notions of personal liberty.(as an aside, i am watching Bushie right now dodging a question about Canada's move towards decriminalization of da weed...whatta pussy) I am especially fond of something Ben Franklin once said, though i can only paraphrase it, and it was directed towards those who sought appeasement with the British leading up to the American Revolution... 'Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither'
It is very disturbing how many issues keep coming up these last few years, that i wish my representatives in government would invoke these words. It seems we live in a country of full of pussies and sheep, and those who would seek to impose their personal social beliefs on others. Welcome to the New America

Go ahead Jerry, touch it.....

Hell i got nothin.... cant come up with witty comentary watchin cartoons all day. I was going to blather on about Jerry Falwell debating Al Sharpton on gay marrige, but you know the deal....homo love is on a par with beastiality blah blah blah.... I guess if i wanna bitch about the news a have to watch it. Its easier to stay transfixed in front of the glowing box when there is more flagrant horror in your face, and i dont feel like looking for it right now, though i must say the headline about Iran's uranium production in the NYT today was worthy of Rush Limbaugh. Liberal media?

And here's why.....

I must confess, It pisses me off on a daily basis when i see that White House tool Robert Novak's grinning skull every day on TV. The notion that he should be protected from prosecution for outing Valerie Plame as a CIA operative, on the ridiculous premise that he is a journalist is insane. In my estimation, he should be charged with treason, and if convicted stood against the wall and shot.
Now, it just isnt that. Tucker Carlson, Neil Cavuto, Bill O'Reilley, Sean Hannity, the entire Fox News morning zoo crew, hell, all of NewsCorp do their damndest to make the country as stupid and compliant as they can. I hope they all get ass cancer. That is my motivation behind this blog. My family has been in this country for literally hundreds of years. Hell, one of my ancestors rode with Paul Revere's Green Mountain Boys, my grandma was born in a covered wagon on the Oregon trail. I am about as American as you can get, and it is time to fight back against the enemys of liberty once again.
